Mesopotamia resident Kevin Richards aka Masicka was shot dead Friday night, becoming the third man killed in the country in as many weeks.
Details surrounding the shooting are still emerging, but iWitness News understands that Richards, who is said to be in his 20s, was at the roadside when a motor vehicle approached, stopped, and an occupant shot him.
The incident occurred in a small village called Montaque.
The killing comes three weeks after Anil Greaves, 26, and Quinn Greaves aka “Huncho” were shot down while socialising at a shop in Georgie Gutter, Belair, on Jan. 16.
Anil Greaves died at the scene, while Quinn Greaves died in hospital.
Investigators are yet to make any arrest in connection with those killings, for which the police force said it had established a special investigating team, headed by Assistant Commissioner of Police with responsibility for crime-fighting, Trevor “Buju” Bailey.
“This investigation will be conducted without distraction, without delay, and without compromise,” police had said in a press statement.
The killing on Friday night brings the homicide count in SVG this year to four.
The Belairv crime will not be solved since the people who have information about the drug deal that went wrong have a vested intrest in not speaking. They are season criminals. It is not akin to the Belmont killing where a camera recorded the tragedy. Time will tell.
