Prime Minister Godwin Friday will travel to Antigua and Barbuda to attend the 78th Meeting of the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) Authority, scheduled for Sunday and Monday.

The Meeting will bring together heads of government and leaders from across the OECS to discuss regional priorities, including economic development, regional integration, climate resilience, security, and cooperation among member states.

The meeting will also mark the official handover of the Chairmanship of the OECS Authority from Friday to the Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda, Gaston Browne, in line with the organisation’s rotational leadership arrangement.

Friday will be accompanied by Ambassador Allan Alexander, Senior Advisor Randy Cato, Senior Advisor and Ambassador Kevin Hope and Protection Officer Corporal Desrick Quashie.

Deputy Prime Minister St. Clair Leacock will act as prime minister during Friday’s absence.

“The Government of St Vincent and the Grenadines remains committed to advancing Vincentians’ interests through active engagement in regional and international partnerships,” the Office of the Prime Minister said in a press release.

“It will continue to work closely with OECS Member States to address shared challenges and pursue opportunities for sustainable growth and development,” the release said.
