Fresh off of signing his first professional basketball contract (2026-2027) with Bisbal Bàsquet in Spain following the conclusion of his collegiate career, Thomas showcased why he is regarded as one of SVG’s most promising talents.

“The federation extends its sincere congratulations to every player for proudly representing the national colours with passion and determination. Special recognition is also extended to Head Coach Justin Scott, Assistant Coach Randolph “Sticky” Williams, and the entire delegation for their dedication and professionalism throughout the tournament,” a press release said.

The SVGBF also acknowledged the leadership of head of delegation and SVGBF President Suzette Jackson and Team Manager/Chef de Mission Sabrina Mitchell, whose commitment ensured the team’s successful participation on the international stage.

“Additionally, the SVGBF extends its deepest appreciation to Team Captain Chrisford Telesford, Phillip Lawrence-Ricks and Sean Baptiste, who will retire as national players and pass the baton onto other players,” the release said.

It said Telesford and Lawrence-Ricks have represented the national team since 2018, while Baptiste has worn the SVG colours since 2011.

“Their leadership, commitment and experience have left an indelible mark on the country.”

The federation said it looks forward to keeping them involved in the continued development of basketball in SVG through various coaching, mentorship and player development programmes, ensuring their knowledge and experience continue to benefit future national teams.

The federation expressed appreciation to all contributors to the team’s efforts, including the government, sponsors and private contributors, including former Vincentian NBA player Adonal Foyle and his Kerosene Lamp Foundation.

“While the journey to qualification has come to an end, the executive remains proud of the team’s performance and the resilience displayed throughout the competition,” the release said.

“The experience gained will serve as a foundation for continued growth as the SVGBF remains committed to developing the sport and creating more opportunities for Vincentian basketball.

“The St. Vincent and the Grenadines Basketball Federation will continue to build on the momentum generated over the past year as it advances its mission under the banner of #REBOUND – working tirelessly to revive, strengthen and elevate basketball across the nation.”
