In the Boys section, nine countries were represented across 10 teams: Aruba, Barbados, Curaçao, Grenada, Guyana, St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Suriname, and Trinidad and Tobago.

In the girls section, seven of the same countries were represented across eight teams. Barbados and Curaçao did not field a girls’ team.

Ultimately, the boys finished in 8th position with an overall record of 2 ties won, and 3 ties lost (4-6 singles, 1-3 doubles), and the girls finished in 7th position with 1 tie won, and 4 ties lost (4-6 singles, 0-4 doubles).

“Despite the results, the SVGTA (St. Vincent and the Grenadines Tennis Association) is proud of our juniors’ showing at this tournament, and thanks them for representing St Vincent & the Grenadines,” a press release said.

This outing marked all players’ debut representing a national team, and was even the first time that some have left the country.

“Opportunities like this are crucial for player development both on and off the court. The many fruitful experiences had, and lessons learned will continue to add to their foundation, and the SVGTA is confident in each player’s commitment to improving,’ the SVGTA said.
