Thirteen students who passed the 2026 Caribbean Primary Exit Assessment (CPEA) have been recognised through KCCU’s academic scholarship, socio-economic scholarship, staff scholarship and bursary programmes.
Academic scholarships were awarded to Amiah Anderson of the Kingstown Preparatory School, Kelleigh Kirby of the Windsor Primary School and Armani Ashton of the Kingstown Preparatory School.
Socio-economic scholarships were presented to Dominic Soleyn of the Fairhall Government School, Deondra Ollivierre of the Paget Farm Government School and Xyrell Dopwell of the Kingstown Preparatory School. Joshua Sargeant, a member of KCCU’s staff, was also awarded a staff scholarship.
Bursaries were presented to Bryce Fitzpatrick of the St. Mary’s Roman Catholic School, Nathan Williams of the Kingstown Preparatory School, T-Niah Nichols of the Windsor Primary School, Hailey Providence of the Kingstown Anglican School, Carlina Williams of the Spring Village Methodist School and Renee Hutchinson of the Calliaqua Anglican School.
KCCU’s CPEA scholarships are awarded for seven years, subject to each recipient maintaining satisfactory academic performance and demonstrating a continued commitment to his or her education.
KCCU said that beyond providing financial assistance, it seeks to nurture well-rounded young people who understand and embrace the values of the co-operative movement.
Awardees are therefore encouraged to practise consistent savings and responsible financial management, thereby helping to sustain the credit union movement for future generations.
