The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade, Foreign Investment and Diaspora Affairs has announced that Consul General Roderick Mc Kree and Deputy Consul General Laverne Phillips-Bramble officially assumed their respective roles at the consulate in Toronto last week Tuesday.

The appointments follow a preliminary announcement made by Foreign Affairs Minister Fitzgerald Bramble in May during an Invest SVG diaspora outreach forum in Toronto. At the time, Bramble noted that the administration was restructuring its overseas missions to place the diaspora at the center of the state’s economic development strategy.

A release from the Ministry stated that Mc Kree brings an extensive professional background to his new diplomatic posting, backed by more than 30 years of experience in education.

“His professional background has fostered a high degree of adaptability, flexibility and interpersonal skills, enabling him to engage effectively across diverse environments and respond constructively to a range of challenges,” the release said.

Mc Kree, a native of Bequia and former lecturer at the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Community College, holds a Doctor of Education from the University of the West Indies. He is proficient in both English and Spanish, having earned a Master’s and Undergraduate Degree in Psychology and Psycho-social Intervention from the University of the Orient in Santiago, Cuba, alongside a diploma in Spanish from the University of ISACA in Ciego de Ávila, Cuba.

Laverne Phillips-Bramble, who is native of Marriaqua, brings an academic and professional foundation rooted in global market operations to her role.

She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in International Business and Management from Ming Chuan University in Taiwan. In addition to her international business background, she spent over two decades working locally in media at NICE Radio and is fluent in both English and Mandarin Chinese.

Through their combined expertise, the Ministry expressed confidence that Mc Kree and Phillips-Bramble will significantly advance Saint Vincent and the Grenadines’ diplomatic, trade, and consular interests in Canada.
