KINGSTOWN, St. Vincent — Miss St. Kitts and Nevis Iantavian Queeley, won all but one of the judged categories of the Miss Carival pageant on Friday to take the crown, US$4,300, and other gifts back to her twin-island federation.
Queeley won in the swimwear, talent, and evening gown categories, in additional to being Miss Photogenic, in the show, regarded as the most prestigious beauty pageant in the English-speaking Caribbean.
She was followed by the Vincentian delegate, Aviar Charles, who did not top any of the categories. Charles will get a prize of US$1,300 and gifts.
Second Runner-up was Miss Anguilla, who also won the interview segment and will receive US$700 and gifts.
Miss Barbados Brittany Worrell was Miss Congeniality, an award that does not contribute any points to winning the crown.
The other contestants were Miss Dominica Jacintha Fagan, Miss Dominican Republic Karen Shih Reyes, Miss Jamaica Roneisha James, Miss St. Lucia Lousie Victor, Miss Trinidad and Tobago Kia Joachim, and Miss Venezuela Yojaisy Mendoza Rondon.
