
KINGSTOWN, St.Vincent – Senator Elvis Charles is representing this country at the annual ALBA Education Workshop in Quito, Ecuador.
Charles, a parliamentary secretary in the Office of the Prime Minister, left here yesterday to attend the two-day workshop, which brings together officials from ALBA Alliance in the Caribbean and Latin American to examine issues related to education and training.
The officials will review a series of programmes leading to training in science and technology, health, education and teacher training, telecommunications, and tourism, a government media release said.
This training is expected to benefit young students from St.Vincent and the Grenadines.
The workshop is being conducted by the Ministry for Higher Learning of Venezuela, and is the fourth such event under the ALBA Alliance.
Officials from Antigua and Dominica are also expected to attend the workshop.
Senator Charles is expected to return to St. Vincent on Oct. 9.
