KINGSTOWN, St. Vincent – Police here are investigating the discovery of a second decomposed body this week.

The body was found in the mountains of  the Central Leeward town of Layou and SVGTV has reported that the body is that of Stefan Miller, 12, of the same address.

A well-placed source says that the boy went missing about two weeks after during a regular trip to the mountains.

One man is said to be in police custody in connection with the death of the boy.

On Sunday, a significantly decomposed body, with some parts missing, was found in Welcome, triggering fears that it is that of Shanika Small, 20, who has been missing since Oct. 21.

Small’s mother, Sheryl Small, was unable to identify the body because of the extent of the decomposition.

A post mortem was conducted on Monday but the results have not been released to the media.

Searchlight newspaper, citing sources, has reported that the body found on Sunday appeared to be that of an adult.

The source told the newspaper that the extent of decomposition could mean that it is not Small while the size may rule out the chances of it being Ikeisha Quammie, 13, of Belmont, who has been missing since Sept. 19.

Police say that forensic tests will be conducted to verify the identity of the body.
