The Carnival Development Corporation have announced the names and songs of 14 artistes selected during the Soca Monarch Preliminaries to compete against reigning monarch, Gamal “Skinny Fabulous” Doyle, in the Soca Monarch competition on July 6 at the Victoria Park, commencing at 9 p.m.
They are as follows:

- Lornette “Fya Empress” Nedd — Earthquake
- James “Jamesy P” Morgan — Paranormal
- Shertz “Problem Child” James — Riot
- Orlando “Syxx” Foster — Carnival Slave
- Hance John — Hell Yuh want
- Bruce “Steady Gan” Vincent — Super Natural
- Shaunelle Mc Kenzie — Carry on
- Raeon “Fete King Madzart” Primus — Bobow / Muda wuk
- Eddison “Lively” Mc Dowal — Skin Out
- Tamisha Nichols-Lewis — Zero tolerance
- Johnny “Johnny Rebel” Hall — Rebellious
- Keith Currency — Pat it
- Ryan “Royal” Abraham — Mad Anthem
All artistes are asked to attend a meeting at the Carnival Development Corporation’s office tomorrow — Saturday, June 22 — at 11 a.m. A representative from the band Kinetics is also asked to attend.
Skinny dun win by default. The competition is non-existent. This have to be the worst bunch of Soca songs I have heard for sometime.
All Skinny has to do is to show up. Its ova!!
they need to change that whole CDC organization cuz is the same set of artist they have every year. Time for a change. you all need to give the youngsters a chance, get to see there potential.
