Bad weather on Saturday forced the postponement of Junior Carnival as the rains that began Friday night continued and forecasters predicted possible thunderstorms.
The festival will now take place on Thursday.
The Carnival Development Corporation (CDC) said Saturday that it endorsed the decision of the Carnival Bands Association (CBA) to postpone the festival.
The CBA said the decision as taken “out of an abundance of [caution]”.
Meanwhile, forecasters said at noon on Saturday that a tropical wave was affecting St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
The forecast was for mostly cloudy skies, becoming overcast at times with some scattered showers, periods of rain and possible isolated thunderstorms.
The rain Friday night also affected the Miss Carival show for almost an hour, just before the swimwear segment.
Thursday should also be a half holiday for this event.
