Forty years after heads of government, met in Trinidad and Tobago and signed what then Prime Minister of Guyana, Linden Forbes Sampson Burnham, said should become known as the Treaty of Chaguaramas, on July 4, 2013, the current Heads of Government of CARICOM re-enactment the signing of the treaty on Thursday at the Chaguaramas Convention Centre.

The Thirty-Fourth Meeting of Heads of Government is being convened in the city where the founding Treaty of Chaguaramas was signed on 4 July, 1973.
