The money senior police officers, including Commissioner of Police, Keith Miller, was fooled into sending to crooks in Senegal last year did not belong to the Government.
Internet scammers fooled the police into sending money via Western Union to the African nation, having tricked the local lawmen into believing they were registering for a conference there.
Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves said that when Miller told him the money will be repaid, he initially thought it had come from the Government.
“I understand that the money did not actually come from the Government of St. Vincent and the Grenadines,” Gonsalves, who is also Minister of Finance, told a press conference Wednesday.
“… while I was tracking down this thing, I inquired from which fund was this paid and apparently it wasn’t involving monies of the Government of St. Vincent and the Grenadines or anything controlled by the Consolidated Fund,” Gonsalves further said.
“It might have been resources residing in the Police Force,” Gonsalves, who is also Minister of National Security, further said.
“I am not getting into how they deal with their internal monies,” he further said of the police.
Miller appeared on a radio programme last month, and in response to callers’ inquiries about whether the money had been repaid, asked if callers had proof that he had sent state funds to the crooks.
Miller is slated to go on pre-retirement leave on Monday.

I didn’t know the police was a statutory body with their ‘own’ money to play with. Why is the police not fixing their headquarters and building their ‘own’ stations?, …. “watch a gova-ment”. Gonsalves now have to swallow his ‘Miller will payback’ story and bow to Miller’s. Pre-retirement is just a breeze-off for Miller, he will only leave if he wants to because ‘contract-gate’ is wide open and waiting for him. All those loads of deputies and assistants deputies will have to continue soo-soo and carry news on each other with those ‘sweet’ phone calls thinking that they will be next. Miller, Hendricks and all the others can’t face john public outside of authority so they will remain there to cherish the plastic smiles they get from ‘friends’ “Watch a gova-ment”.
What does he think we are all stupid, where did the police originally get all and every cent from that they use and operate with, its government money, its State money, its our money.
I just hope that our very own MR BEAN police chief has repaid the money in full, because wherever he took the money from its ours.

Ralph Gonsalves thinks we are all very stupid and he is all very smart. And stupid people must believe what smart people say, all the time, every time whatever is said by them … by his reckoning.
Gonsalves could well have said that the money fell out the sky and he would have sounded no more foolish for it. Where else could it come from if not from us?
But the part people seemed to miss his usual out, I am not getting into how they deal with their internal monies. The Police is his watch but the kitchen is too hot for now. So he is running. The Ministry of Agriculture is his watch only inasmuch as he is Prime Minister but he has a minister for that ministry and the Minister should handle the ministry. But unlike with the ministries under his direct command where he runs when issues are too hot to handle he wasted no time to come to rescue his Speaker’s son when the younger Alexander (Allan) was caught plumb with insider trading when he was the Permanent Secretary in that ministry.
And tell me, as far as insider trading goes, is young Alexander’s new position in Invest SVG a promotion or demotion?

Such a statement by Gonslaves probably translates to, ‘the Police Chief has not repaid the money’. ‘So lets pretend the money is not state owned in any way, that will make it more acceptable if its not repaid’.
He must have a good laugh when he puts forward this crap, and all the ULP followers believe it, hook-line-and-sinker.

So detective ralph had to track down where the money came from because no one knew for sure or was not telling the truth ( the police ) it took all this time and his tracking skills for his investigation to be completed thus he came to the conclusion that it was not government money but that the police force of SVG has their own source of funds that he as PM did not know about .I would like to know what else is he investigating that has the police of SVG making blighted asses of themselves in the public eye an of course he knows nothing about nor is he responsible for. and the cows said mooooooo mooooooo mooooooooooo !! .
