The SVG Hotel & Tourism Association on Monday extended its “deepest sympathy to all those who have lost loved ones or in any way suffered loss of, or damage to property, agriculture, or livestock” of he 24/12/13 disaster.

The torrential rains from a low level trough system triggered extensive flooding and landslides in some communities, claiming nine lives, while four people are still missing.

“The organization also empathizes with businesses whose operations were affected in any way,” the Association further said.

“The Association’s office is in communication with its membership to determine the extent to which the local tourism industry may have been impacted by the system and is looking at ways in which assistance could be offered to persons affected,” the Association said in a release on Monday.
