Distinguished regionalist and outstanding credit unionist, Melvin Edwards, will speak on the topic “Credit Unions: A Pillar of Economic Growth and Development”, when the General Employees Cooperative Credit Union Ltd. (GECCU) hosts its inaugural lecture on Thursday.
The lecture is slated for 8 p.m. at Frenches House in Kingstown.
The lecture will be given in honour of the sterling contribution of founding member, Beryl Baptiste, MBE, and is the first in a series of lectures focusing on GECCU’s contribution to its members in all spheres of life in St. Vincent and the Grenadines over the past 50 years.
The series will also highlight the role credit unions have played in the socio-economic, political and spiritual development of our nation.
