Police are investigating the circumstance into the fire at Rose Place, Kingstown in which 2-year-old Romano Cupid is said to have died.

The house, belonging to Petrian John, 38, of Rose Place, and its content were destroyed in the fire around 2 a.m. Saturday, police say.

A postmortem examination is expected to be performed on the body of the toddler.

Information reaching I-Witness News indicates that the child’s mother was not at home at the time of the blaze.

She is said to have left the child in the care of another person, and the fire is believed to have started when that persons also left the house.
