Owia carnival activities will take place June 6-8.

The Owia Sports and Cultural Organisation (OSCO) will host its much-anticipated Carnival activities this weekend.

The activities kick off Friday night with a fashion extravaganza and talent explosion dubbed “The runway meets the real fetters”.

The event takes place at Owia Government School and is scheduled to begin at 9 p.m.

This will be followed by J’ouvert, then later on Saturday, a street jump-up that will feature mas on the streets of Owia for the first time ever.

Over 20 masqueraders are expected to don costumes designed and built by members of OSCO.

There will also be an after party.

On Sunday, it’s the Owia Carnival cool down in the form of a river lime at Owia Big River.

This event will feature a number of competitions for the young and old.

OSCO Owia Carnival 2014 is being sponsored by LIME and St. Vincent Brewery Ltd., and will be held under the theme “Come LIME with us and drink ah Hairoun”
