2013 finalist Bank of SVG All Stars will for a second consecutive year have a chance on Sunday to win the Dovers Electrical Services, East Kingstown Sports Association Softball Cricket Competition.

They will play the first champion of the competition, General Hardware Richmond Hill United when the finals of the fourth annual tournament conclude at the Grammar School Playing Field.

Both teams won their semi-final games.

In the first semi-final match on Sunday, General Hardware Richmond Hill United had a 69-run win over Buccament Bay.

Batting first, General Hardware Richmond Hill United reached 132 for 7 off their 20 overs.

Captain Depter Culzac made 19 not out.

Lorenzo Degrads took 2 for 8 and Kenroy Slater 2 for 21, bowling for Buccament Bay.

In reply, Buccament Bay were dismissed for 63 off 17.1 overs. Elroy Cumberbatch bagged 4 for 14 and Zenroy Lee 2 for 2 for General Hardware Richmond Hill United.

In the other semi-final match, Bank of SVG All Stars had a 20-run win over Just for the Fun.

Bank of SVG All Stars reached 94 for 9 off their 20 overs.

Glenroy Dasant top scored with 24. He was supported by Newborne Joseph, who made 23; Marcus Hacksaw took 2 for 9, and Okeiph Andrews 2 for 13, bowling for Just for the Fun.

In reply, Just for the Fun were dismissed for 74 off 18.3 overs. Marcus Hacksaw, putting in an all-round performance, made 21. Newborne Joseph grabbed 4 for 13. He was supported by Glenroy Dasant’s 2 for 8.

Nyron De Sousa of Bank of SVG All Stars made 133 runs, while Elroy Cumberbatch of General Hardware Richmond Hill is the leading wicket taker with 20 wickets.

Sunday July 27:

11 a.m. Just for the Fun and Buccament Bay (third place playoffs)

2 p.m.: Bank of SVG All Stars and General Hardware Richmond Hill United (Finals)

The matches will be played at the Grammar School Playing Field.
