The Montreal, Majorca, Hermitage and Jennings water systems were affected by the heavy rainfall overnight, the Central Water and Sewerage Authority (CWSA) says.

“As a result, there have been reports of broken distribution lines in several communities on the Windward and Leeward side of the island, which have together resulted in loss of water to parts of the following communities: Belmont, Top Questelles, Top Belair, Belair (area across Jack and Little’s residence), Vermont, Choppins, Biabou, Gibson Corner, New Montrose, Kingstown (Heritage square area, Block 2000),” the CWSA said on Saturday.

“The CWSA has already mobilised several crews to address these damages and will continue to work to restore water to affected communities and will also keep the public updated as new reports are received,” the release further said .

In the meantime the public is asked to continue to call the CWSA’s emergency line at 45-71445 to report instances of leaks, broken lines or water outages.
