A resident of Bequia died Wednesday after receiving chops wounds about the body, reportedly inflicted by one of his sons.

The man has been identified as Colville Ollivierre, a 48-year-old resident of Paget Farm.

Police are alleging that Ollivierre died after being chopped by his 22-year-old son, Diondrous Williams, during an incident at Gellizeau in Paget Farm, around 10:30 p.m.

Ollivierre died at the Port Elizabeth Clinic, where he was taken, after the incident.

A cutlass was reportedly used to inflict the fatal wounds.

In July, Hyacinth Hoyte, a 65-year-old domestic of Paget Farm was killed and her husband, Marcs Hoyte, a 65-year-old stevedore of the same address, injured during a cutlass attack at their home.

The man police had suspected of committing those crimes was later found dead in the burnt out ground floor of a house on the island.

Initially investigations suggested that he locked himself in the building and set it afire, police said then
