A Petit Bordel man is in hospital but is expected to survive his injuries after being shot in the back in the North Leeward community Sunday night.

Member of Parliament for North Leeward, Roland “Patel” Matthews told I-Witness News that Julius “Acid” Pierre was shot just outside the Petit Bordel Secondary School around 11 p.m.

There was a street football activity taking place at the school’s hard court and some men where “liming” outside when a masked gunman approached the group and shot Pierre, Matthews told I-Witness News.

He was taken to the Chateaubelair hospital, where he was stabilised before being transferred to Kingstown.

Matthews told I-Witness News that doctors said Pierre’s injuries were serious but not critical.

The opposition lawmaker also said that Pierre’s girlfriend attempted to run after hearing the gunshot and fell and dislocated her shoulder.

She, too, is in hospital.
