Two bards have earned a place in the semifinals of the National Calypso Monarch competition tonight (Friday) after two of the original semifinalists withdrew from the show.

The Carnival Development Corporation said this week that Errol “D Man Age” Rose and Kenroy “Jakie” Jack of the Dynamite Calypso Tent in New York have withdrawn from the competition.

The CDC said the withdrawals were due to work-related reasons surrounding the New York-based artistes.

They have been replaced by the two reserves, Elvis “Abijah” Abbie from the On Tour Calypso Tent and St. Clair “Mitch” Lavia from Graduates Calypso tent.

The two reserves are now Cecile “Lil Bit” King and Alvin “Zion-I” Dennie.
