An Arnos Vale man died in hospital on Sunday, five days after he was involved in an accident with a motor vehicle, police said on Monday.

The man, Elroy Cruickshank, 52, died at the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital.

Preliminary investigation show that Cruickshank was lying on the sidewalk near to the Mango Tree Bar at Arnos Vale, when motor vehicle, P6141, driven by 50-year-old Joham Buntyn of Edindoro, which was travelling towards the Arnos Vale roundabout ran off the road and struck Cruickshank.

He was taken to the MCMH with serious injuries.

The vehicle is owned by Franklyn Garraway of Belair.

Buntyn is in custody assisting the police with the investigation.

There have been 13 road accidents this year, which resulted in the deaths of 21 persons.
