Country meets Town Out Ah Trouble and Nice Radio Clinchers strolled into the semi-finals of SVG Police Co-operative Credit Union Clinchers T/20 softball cricket competition at the Richland park Oval on the weekend.

Out Ah Trouble got the better of Smashers by 5 wickets in a keenly contested match on Sunday.

Smashers, asked to take strike, reached 105 for 7 from their 20 overs thanks to Junior Ashton, who hit an unbeaten 50.

Westrick Strough had figures of 3 for 5 from his four overs bowling for Out Ah Trouble.

Strough then scored an unbeaten 31 and Asif Hooper 32* to see Outa Trouble to 110 for 5 in18 overs and a berth in the semis.

In the other match on Sunday, Nice Radio Clinchers beat Dr. Thomas Injectors by 20 runs.

Nice Radio Clinchers batted first and scored 120 for 7 from 20 overs with Javar Caine 27 and Curlan John 23 leading the batting.

Philroy Ashton topped the bowling for Dr. Thomas Injectors with 2 for 18.

Dr. Thomas Injectors were then restricted to100 for 9 from their 20 overs, with Kesran Ashton — 26 not out, and Naffique Maloney – 20, being the main contributors with the bat.

Javar Caine took 2 for 15, Peter Richards — 2 for 20, and Oheyon Toby — 2 for 26, for Nice Radio Clinchers.

Saturday’s matches were rained out and have been rescheduled for this weekend.

They should have featured 2013 and 2015 champions, Gairy’s Construction Simple Boyz versus Owia Young Strikers and 2014 winners, CGM Gallagher Novice against last year’s third place, Sion Hill Tallawahs.
