Police in Bequia are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a German woman in that Grenadine Island.
The body of the woman, 78-year-old retiree, Ursula Meier, was found in her vehicle over an embankment at Springtop around 2 a.m. on Thursday.
Police have said that they are treating the incident as a motor vehicle accident, and have put the time of it occurrence as 8:50 p.m. Wednesday.
Police say that the woman left her home in Bequia Wednesday evening and was not seen until 2 a.m. the next day), when her vehicle was spotted over an embankment at Springtop Bequia.
Her lifeless body was discovered in the vehicle.
The district medical doctor later pronounced Meier dead.
A post mortem examination is expected to be carried out on her body.
The police investigation continues amidst rumours that the woman may have committed suicide.
