Police have launched an investigation into the death of a student who was found hanging by the neck on Saturday.

The student, a female, who is said to be 15 years old, is said to have died in hospital after being rushed there.

Police in Colonaire, which covers the South Rivers district, have declined to comment on the development.

They directed iWitness News to Commissioner of Police Colin John.

John, however, did not answer calls on Saturday morning.

The death of the student comes just under two weeks after that of a Mesopotamia man, who was found dead in similar circumstances.

On June 5, the mother of the 20-year-old resident of Glenside, Mesopotamia, found his body hanging at their home about 7:15 a.m., police said.

The mother summoned the police and the district physician pronounced the man dead at the scene.

    1. Ben-david, keep your unscientific backward racist bull to yourself, please! In cases like what…? Come on Mr PhD!

    2. To speculate on a cause without any evidence, makes you very judgmental! There are a myriad of issues that could have caused this outcome. Please allow for the investigation before rendering your “expert” opinion!

      1. As I said, these are the main causes of teenage suicide which any forensic specialist would look at first.

I am not being “judgmental.” These are actually the leading causes of teenage suicide that any forensic expert would look at first.

    3. Sometimes, I wish you will just learn the art of SILENCE.

It’s really becoming too much. I wish IWN allowed us to block certain people.

The man who knows A LOT of NOTHING strupes!

      1. If you were really lawyer rather than a liar, you would know that these are among the leading causes of teenage suicide, the overarching cause being depression about these and other problems:

Factors that increase the risk of suicide among teens include:

        — a psychological disorder, especially depression, bipolar disorder, and alcohol and drug use (in fact, about 95% of people who die by suicide have a psychological disorder at the time of death)\

        — feelings of hopelessness and worthlessness that often accompany depression

        — emotional, physical, or sexual abuse

        — lack of a support network, poor relationships with parents or peers, and feelings of social isolation

        — dealing with bisexuality or homosexuality in an unsupportive family or community or hostile school environment

In SVG, given the high level of sexual abuse, I rank this higher than other factors.

      2. The research that may be present does not mean that it has any bearing on this case. Anyone can google causes of suicide but in my part of the world, we deal with facts not opinions.

Don’t worry about me and what I do. My work speaks for itself.

Take several seats at the back of the bus. It is no coincidence that daily, you are being called out!!!

  1. Could be demonic, seems like things in svg is happening in twos or more, demons are real and can convince the weak at heart to do these things, we are always looking for the most reasonable excuse that we can handle ( accept) but as a God fearing man my wife and I look at these things and see different, would the world accept this answer when we are told they shall turn to fables rather than the truth, your comments are yours and so this is mine, God bless

You seem to be a victim of “mental slavery,” a disabling transmitted disease, at least according to the slavery movement which claims we inherited it from our distant forparents, substantiated, in your case by your belief in Demons — meaning a belief in African Black Magic.

Sir, I would support and even fight for your freedom of religious expression even as I reject “demons” as a figment of your imagination.

      1. Your not educated at all, who said demons has to do with African black magic, it’s obvious that you have no clue what ur talking about but you just wanted to seem like you do, ( African black magic) seriously, you made me laugh , it was better for you to make a general comment that to reply to on a subject you have no clue about, anyways I’m gonna place IWN email in the spam so I receive no more, that was funny ( demons meaning African black magic) someone educate her please, don’t try to shame the Lord’s servant you will only shame ur self, hahahahahahaha demons is African black magic

    1. C. Ben-David says:

I don’t disagree that depression is the direct and immediate cause but depression also has a lot of causes — drug addiction, sexual abuse, bullying, etc. which were the issues I was focusing on even though I recognize that many people who commit suicide are chronically depressed about a whole lot of issues that other people successful cope with on a daily basis.

  2. Ben even though your research in this area may be correct, I believe what most ppl here are criticizing you on is that your comment came across insensitive to the victim and their family especially if you’re not in direct knowledge of THIS specific case. Your second comment above should have been your first. Take this L and keep it moving lol , you are not perfect lol
