The first group of Windward Islands Under-19 Rising Stars arrived in St. Vincent on Thursday, days before the 2019 Cricket West Indies Regional Under-19 cricket tournament bowls off at three venues.
The 2019 tournament runs from July 28 to Aug. 6 and will be played at Cumberland Playing Field, Park Hill Playing Field, and Arnos Vale Cricket Grounds.
Jamie Buddy, Seandell Regis, Ronel Williams, Teddy Bishop, and manager Randel Baptiste arrived from Grenada.
Arriving from St. Lucia minutes later were skipper Kimani Melius, Simeon Gerson, and Ackeem Auguste, while the Vincentian players in the persons of Jeheil Walters, Carmalo Cain, and Tijorn Pope joined them at the team hotel in Kingstown later Thursday.
The Dominican players in Taj Tavernier the vice-captain, Lincoln Durand, Savio Anslem, and Malakai Xavier, along with coach Mervin Thomas will arrive in St. Vincent and the Grenadines from Dominica on Friday.
Hosts Windward Islands play their first match in the 2019 tournament on Sunday against Guyana at the Arnos Vale Cricket Grounds.
