The National Emergency Management Organisation, on Sunday, announced six additional COVID-19 deaths in St. Vincent and the Grenadines, bringing the total to 53.

Of the 53 deaths, 41 have occured since Sept. 8, when an upsurge began to emerge, followed by an uptick in the number of deaths, which had remained at 12 since May.

All the patients died of COVID-19 pneumonia and were unvaccinated.

The deaths are as follows:

● a 74-year-old female with underlying conditions tested positive for COVID-19 on Oct. 3, and died on Friday, Oct. 15;

● a 35-year-old male with no underlying conditions tested positive for COVID-19 on Oct. 11 and died on Friday, Oct. 15;

● a 68-year-old male with underlying conditions tested positive for COVID-19 on Friday, Oct. 15 and died yesterday, Saturday, Oct. 16

● a 49-year-old female with underlying conditions tested positive for COVID-19 on Sept. 28 and died yesterday, Saturday, Oct. 16;

● a 64-year-old male with underlying conditions tested positive for COVID-19 on Oc. 9 and died today, Sunday, Oct. 17; and,

● a 94-year-old male with underlying conditions tested positive for COVID-19 on Oct. 6, and died today, Sunday, Oct. 17.

  1. Vincentians you all are not LEARNING look at the DEATH RATE more of unvaccinated are DYIING, swallow your pride AND GO AND TAKE THE VAX, I did and I am ok with no problem

  2. All these death could of been prevented if only people would of take this virus seriously, people claiming its a hoax or just a flu, not thinking if it’s just a flu it’s a flu that kills, it does not pick and chose.

    Just spoke to a friend who got covid19 and recovered, fortunately he recovered after about a week but he made a point of saying he doen’t wish it on anyone. He also said that he’s grateful that he had taken the first of the two shot Pfizer vaccine. His wife who had taken both vaccine shots was not infected.
