Swimmers from St. Vincent and the Grenadines, for the ninth successive swimming championships have won medals at the CARIFTA Aquatics Championships.

Tayeah St Hilaire, swimming in the girls’ 11 to 12 category, won two silver medals and one bronze medal and set three new SVG national records.

Zariel Nelson, swimming in the girls’13 to 14 category, won silver n the 50-metre freestyle

Brandon George, one of our 2022 medal winners, moved up to swim in the first year of the boys aged 15 to 17 category. He

qualified for the finals and placed 7th in the 200-metre backstroke and 8th in the 100-metre backstroke. George set two new SVG national open records and two national age group records

Matthew Ballah, swimming in the boys’ 13 to 14 age group, qualified for the finals and placed 7th in the 50-metre backstroke and 6th in the 100-metre backstroke events.

And, Mya Defreitas, swimming in the girls’ 15 to 17 age group, placed 7th in the 800-metre freestyle.
