The St. Vincent and the Grenadines Sailing Association took part in the Worldwide Sailing Event, Bart’s Bash.

The racing took place out of Blue Lagoon Hotel and Marina, in the Calliaqua Bay, with sunshine and a medium breeze, great sailing conditions.

Twenty young sailors competed in this fun race, in Topaz’s, Open Skiffs, Megabyte, and the “Olympic ILCA 6”. The SVG winner was Logan Banfield, 2nd Zachary McLawrence, 3rd Kai Marks-Dasent.

All of the results will be uploaded to the Worldwide Bart’s Bash results page so local sailors can see how well they did against the rest of the World.

The Sailing Association next event is the PanAm Games, to be held in Chile in October.

This will be the first time SVG Sailing will be represented at such a prestigious competition and will do so with the support of the SVG National Olympic Committee.

SVG Sailing Association says it is committed to a sailing programme that teaches sailing skills within the community.

“The main aim is to have fun, but also to discover talent, be it to represent SVG in international competitions or to gain vocational qualifications for careers in the sailing industry.”
