Vincentians Jayden George and Savanté Padmore performed impressively in the recently concluded 2023 Barbados Junior Open and Under 23 Squash Championships.

In a spectacular showcase of skill and determination, George, the reigning 2023 Boys Under 15 Caribbean Champion, emerged victorious in both the mixed under 15 and mixed under 17 categories.

George’s exceptional performance underscored his dominance on the court, solidifying his reputation as one of the region’s most promising squash talents.

In the Mixed Under 15 category, George navigated through the competition with precision and finesse.

After receiving a bye in the first round, he faced off against Emily Fung-a-Fatt from Guyana, delivering a commanding performance with a score line of 11-1, 11-2, 11-5.

In the following round, George continued his winning streak by defeating Daniel Sealy of Barbados in a closely contested match, securing victory with scores of 11-9, 12-10, 11-9.

The momentum carried over into the mixed under 17 category.

Geroge triumphed over Narad Neblett with a dominating scoreline of 11-6, 11-1, 11-0, and continued his winning streak against Kai Sheperd with scores of 11-7, 11-2, 11-4. In the final, George faced off against Daniel Sealy once again, securing the championship title with scores of 11-9, 11-2, 11-4.

Meanwhile, Padmore, an 8-year-old sensation, demonstrated remarkable talent in his own right.

In the boys under 11 category, Padmore secured a third-place finish by defeating Elian Hamati in the 3rd place playoffs with scores of 11-7, 11-3, 11-2.

He also showcased his skills in the boys under 13 category, overcoming challenges against Ethan Cyrus and Zachary Lashley before falling short in a closely contested match against Graham Finn with scores of 13-11, 5-11, 11-7, 5-11, 5-11.
