St Vincent and the Grenadines recently witnessed a significant milestone in community service efforts with the establishment of its first Interact Club in 2023.
The club, made up of students in Forms 3 to 5 of the St Vincent Girls’ High School, aims to promote leadership and social responsibility among the youth.
The club is a branch of the Rotary and serves as a platform for young people to participate in community projects, bettering themselves as well as their communities.
The club is embarking on its first project for the year, a feminine products drive.
The project aims to collect and distribute basic hygiene items to girls and women in need throughout the country.
These products include female sanitary products as well as oral and other hygiene products.
The drop off points for these products are Coreas City store, Massy (all locations), St. Vincent Co-operative Bank and the St Vincent Girls High School in Arnos Vale.
“We recognise the difficulties that women and girls face in accessing basic hygiene products, so we have taken proactive steps to lessen their load,” the club said.
“Every act of kindness makes a difference, so join us as we inspire each other to be catalysts for positive change.”
