A Largo Height man was Monday in hospital after the vehicle he was driving plunged over an embankment in Peruvian Vale and went into the sea.
Police said that officers at the Biabou Police Station are investigating the circumstances surrounding an incident involving RA-347, a Toyota Vitz, driven by Kevin Lewis, a 40-year-old carpenter.
The incident occurred near the gas station in Peruvian Vale.
Police said preliminary investigations reveal that about 7 a.m. on Monday, Lewis was driving
along the Peruvian Vale public road in the direction of Argyle when he lost control of the
vehicle, which went over the embankment.
Lewis was the only occupant of the vehicle and when police arrived, he was found lying on his back.
“He complained of pain in the neck and lower body. He was transported by ambulance to the Levi Latham Health Centre and then to the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital where he is being treated and is reported to be in a stable condition,” police said, adding that the investigation is ongoing.
Were there safety railings along the road at the top of the embankment?
