The Rotaract Club of Kingstown cleaned up Great Head Bay on March 16 as its water, sanitation, and hygiene month activities.

The clean-up was done in collaboration with the National Parks, Rivers and Beaches Authority, Serenity Dive SVG, the Leo Club of St Vincent and the Rotary Club of St Vincent.

The clean-up effort was attended by 27 volunteers who removed various forms of debris from the beach, including tyres, plastic and clothing items.

“As part of Rotary’s global initiatives, addressing environmental challenges remains a key priority. By actively engaging in projects like beach clean-ups, we demonstrate our dedication to preserving natural resources and promoting a healthier planet for all,” the club said.

“The collaboration between our club and these esteemed organizations underscores the collective responsibility we hold towards protecting our natural environment. Through initiatives like this beach clean-up, we aim to raise awareness about the importance of preserving our beaches and rivers for future generations.”
