The East Caribbean Group of Companies (ECGC) through its Island Sipz Water brand, has announced a major endorsement deal with Shafiqua Maloney, St. Vincent and the Grenadines’ premier Paris 2024 Olympics-bound athlete.
The endorsement agreement signed earlier this month is good for two years, with the potential value in this Olympic year at $125,000. Maloney receives a fully guaranteed $60,000 from ECGC towards her Paris 2024 Olympic preparation.
After this the deal structure is performance rewarding, and for every qualifying round at the Olympics that Maloney advances through she can earn an additional bonus payment of up to $25,000 each time.
ECGC chief executive, J. Robert Cato, was full of praises for the athlete.
“We are excited to support partner and invest in the Olympic career of Shafiqua Maloney, who is an outstanding talent with great character and just a delightful person.”
Cato added that based on Maloney’s performance and United States race times this year, ECGC strongly believe Maloney is going to have a fantastic showing at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
“And we are proud that she has agreed to become an ambassador for our Island Sipz Water, which is the fastest growing beverage brand in the St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Island Sipz is the hydrator of Champions,” Cato.
“This is a great start for us with Shafiqua and we are going to continue supporting athletes,” Cato further stated.
Maloney, a specialist over 800 meters now has her eyes firmly set on a metal during the Paris 2024 Olympics for which she has already qualified based on recent performances over the 800-metre distance.
Maloney has been setting and breaking her own national records over the 400, 800 and 1,500 as she continues to push her limits with the Paris 2024 Olympics as her goal.
Her times have been among the top during competition over 800 meters this year in the United States where she has been training and competing since she enrolled at Southern Illinois where she studied for two years and at the University of Arkansas in the United States.
