Police have brought a murder charge in connection with the shooting death in Greiggs Monday night.
Douglas Baptiste aka Jay and Dougie, of Greiggs, is expected to appear before the Serious Offences Court in Kingstown on Thursday to hear the murder charge.
Baptiste is alleged to have shot and killed Rahim Matthews, a 27-year-old labourer, of Greiggs, in the South Central Windward district around 9:30 p.m. Monday.
iWitness News understands that Matthews and another man had an argument in Matthew’s yard, which was broken up by other people.
The argument is said to have continued on the public road when a man is alleged to have taken a gun from his waist and shot Matthews, who ran before collapsing behind his house shortly after.
Matthews’ death is the 28th homicide in St. Vincent and the Grenadines this year.
