Canada Masters, Canada Legends 50 Plus Masters and Windies Masters continued their winning ways when day 2 of the SVG International Masters T20 Cricket Festival was completed on Tuesday.

Canada Masters made it two wins from two when they romped to a commanding 7-wickets victory over New York Masters in the Festival Division at the Sion Hill Playing Field.

New York Masters were restricted to 101 for 5 in their 20 overs with William “Bill” Edwards left unbeaten on 45 while Mc Neil “Taste” Morgan added 24. Younus Anwar 2 for 17 had the best returns with the ball for Canada Masters who needed 13 overs to get to their target; 107 for 3.

Bhav Singh had another good day with the bat scoring 45 while Manpreet Khaira contributed 24.

Also in the Festival Division, defending champions All Pro Masters began their title defence on the right foot with a 5-wickets victory over North East Masters at the Sion Hill Playing Field.

North East Masters got up to 132 for 8 in their allotment of 20 overs. Nolan Williams scored 25 not out and Emron Lorraine 22. There were 2 wickets apiece for Randy Ramannan — 2 for 19, Anderson Agard  –2 for 20 and Arvind Kumar  — 2 for 23.

All Pro Masters replied with 133 for 5 in 18.5 overs with Ryan Baksh unbeaten on 33 while Randy Ramanan returned with the bat to score 32. Marcus Castello’s 2 for 17 were the best figures by a North East Masters bowler.

To complete the Festival Division matches on day 2, SVG Police Masters remained unbeaten when they recorded a 3-wicket victory over Mustique Company Masters in a game reduced to 16 overs due to rain at the Park Hill Playing Field.

Mustique Company Masters scored 104 for 8 in their 16 overs with Ray Baptiste hitting 25. Joel Gould took 3 for 16 bowling for SVG Police Masters who lost 7 wickets and batted for 14.4 over to get to 105.

Hyron Shallow led the way with 49. Caswell Dorsett did some early damage with the ball for Mustique Company Masters taking 3 for 33, but his efforts were not enough to pull off a win.

In the Fete Division, Canada Legends 50 Plus Masters recorded their second consecutive victory in Group A, when they stopped AMAAS Sporting Services Barbados Masters by 4 wickets at the Cumberland Playing Field.

Inserted to bat, AMAAS Sporting Services Barbados Masters were dismissed for 90 in 19.5 overs. Pedro Agard 30 and Keswin Patterson 26 were their principal scorers.

Bowling for Canada Legends 50 Plus Masters, Rudy Gibson proved to be a handful with the ball, as he snared 5 for 12 off 3.5 overs.

The going was no easier for the Canada Legends 50 Plus Masters batters as they needed 17.3 over to overhaul the target, reaching 91 for 6 in the end. Naveed Serai 24 and Jude Vashu 23 led their batting. Keswin Patterson 2 for 15 and Wesley Straker 2 for 25 were the most successful bowlers for AMAAS Sporting Services Barbados Masters.

Back to winning ways in Group A of the Fete Division were the defending Fete champions Munro Road Masters who had the better of Prime Minister’s XI by 44 runs at the Stubbs Playing Field.

Munro Road Masters tallied 140 for 7 in 20 overs mainly due to a smashing 39-ball 76 from Hardeo Basant. Ansel Hooper 2 for 23 and Sylvester Vanloo 2 for 24 had the best returns for Prime Minister’s XI who were restricted to 96 for 8 in reply after 20 overs.

Finance Minister Camillo Gonsalves was left unbeaten on 32, batting at number nine. Rajnarine Ragoonath 3 for 16 and Rajesh Ramesar 3 for 18 combined forces to complete the victory for Munro Road Masters.

In Group B, of the Fete Division, Windies Masters marched on with another victory, this time defeating Nas Masters by 30 runs at the Stubbs Playing Field. Windies Masters pushed up to 183 for 5 in 20 overs behind a first-wicket stand of 103 between Anthony Sahades 54 and Chris Venan 50.

lan Baldeo also added 23 not out on at the back end of the innings. Jason De Freitas 2 for 28 and Reynold Rampersad 2 for 42 were the most successful bowlers for Nas Masters, who had replied with 153 for 5 when their 20 overs were completed.

Reynold Rampersad top scored with 49 while Annand Bann added 25.

Also In Group B, of the Fete Division, Vee Jay’s North Windward Masters shrugged off their first day loss to get the better of the Sarasota International Cricket Club by 51 runs at Park Hill.

Choosing to bat first, Vee Jay’s North Windward Masters totaled 155 for 8 in their 20 overs. Dan Williams stroked 46 while Hanif Olliviere and Godwin Baptiste added 29 and 25, respectively.

Standing out with the ball for the Sarasota International Cricket Club was Arun Lamba, who bagged 4 for 18 from his 4 overs. Sarasota International Cricket Club, however, fell short in their reply as they were dismissed for 104 in 19.2 overs. Kisson Pampersaud top scored with 19.

Returning with the ball to complete pleasing all-round performances for Vee Jay’s North Windward Masters were Hanif Ollivierre, who picked up 4 for 17, and Dan Williams, who took 3 for 13.
