A Largo Height man is slated to return to court on Tuesday in connection with a charge that he stole tyres valued at EC$64,400 from Star Garage Ltd.
Leon Jacobs, a 24-year-old storeroom clerk, is alleged to have stolen 161 Hankook tyres from the company’s storeroom, in Kingstown, between Jan. 9 and 14.
He pleaded not guilty to the charge when he appeared before Senior Magistrate Colin John at the Serious Offences Court on Monday.
The prosecutor, Inspector of Police Renrick Cato did not object to bail.
He asked the court to request a surety and to impose reporting conditions.
John granted EC$5,000 bail with one surety and ordered Jacobs to report to the Central Police Station once per week.
The matter was adjourned to Tuesday and transferred to the Kingstown Magistrate’s Court.
