The two people whose bodies were found in a burnt-out house after a fire in Diamond on Saturday were part of a love triangle, residents of the community have told iWitness News.
The deceased have been identified as Keithroy Danzel, a 33-year-old multi-skilled construction worker, and Natakie Haynes, a 50-year-old domestic.
Autopsies conducted on their bodies have concluded that Haynes died of choking and thermal burns, and Danzel died of thermal burns.
The findings of the pathologist seem to support the theory that Danzel killed or incapacitated Haynes before setting the house ablaze, thereby ending his own life.
Residents of the area told iWitness News that Haynes and Danzel were involved in a tumultuous relationship, spending much time together when Carl Jessop, the other man in Hayne’s life, was in Mustique, where he works.
Jessop was in Mustique when the incident occurred on Saturday, but flew back to St. Vincent shortly after, arriving after police had processed the scene and left with the bodies.
iWitness News spoke to him even as he considered the aftermath of the fire that destroyed the two-bedroom house in which he and Haynes lived.
Jessop told iWitness News that Haynes was his girlfriend and they had been in a relationship for “a lot of years, … a long time.
“Actually, more than four five years; since I dey here, is me and she,” he said.
“…I don’t have no idea of what took place because I wasn’t here. I was in Mustique,” he said.
“All I just heard is that there’s a guy who went there, tried to do she something like that. But I wouldn’t know,” Jessop told iWitness News.
“I’m not feeling good of what taking place because it’s like I lose everything that I earn, everything I work for. Is like I lose everything.”
The two-bedroom house was estimated to be about 30 by 20 feet and made of wood on a concrete floor.
iWitness News was reliably informed that Danzel was recently dismissed from his construction job.
The dismissal is said to have come after he took Haynes to a rented facility for his construction colleagues working in another part of St. Vincent.
Haynes’s visit is said to have caused tension with Danzel’s colleagues, but he invited her there a second time, resulting in his dismissal.
Meanwhile, police said that about 6:06 a.m. on Saturday, officers received reports of a fire in Diamond.
Officers and firefighters from the RSVGPF Fire Brigade were dispatched to the scene, where the structure was found engulfed in flames.
“The blaze was extinguished; however, the building and all its contents were … destroyed,” police said in a press release.
The release said the bodies of Dansel and Haynes were found in the burnt-out house.
Police said they are dedicated to determining the circumstances that led to this tragedy and are encouraging anyone with information that can assist the investigation to call 457-1211, 456-1810, or 485-6891.
“The Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force extends sincere condolences to the families and friends of the deceased during this difficult time,” the statement said.
An all too common Vincentian lower-class woman, shamelessly juggling at least two hard up men to make ends meet because that’s all she was good for, regardless of her unattractive looks.

From what we were told thus far the tragedy was bound to happen since Haynes was a bonafide two timer who was in a relationship whih her stud when the real live in common law boyfriend was absent. A real tinderbox that was bound to implode.
There are consequences for low class women bearing kids and bringing them into this world with the proper family structure. This is fertile grounds for germinating crimes. St Vincent and the Grenadines crime rate one of the highest in the world is a direct consequences of a failure of the family as oldest social institutions known to mankind.
There has been a loud cry to blame politicians, no politician has an answer to this social problems. We must fix first the family unit, then and only then we can find a solution to one of the vexing problems that plague our society.
