A man, presumably a supporter of the ruling New Democratic Party (NDP), died after a car crashed in the Prospect-Brighton area, a short while ago.
A person on the scene told iWitness News that the man, who was dressed in an NDP campaign t-shirt, appeared to have been travelling in a car, PE51.
The car is said to have struck a wall and flipped over, resulting in the death of the man.
The death came hours after Godwin Friday was sworn in in Kingstown as the country’s fifth prime minister.
The NDP spent 24.5 years in opposition before its commanding victory in Thursday’s general election, winning 14 of the 15 seats.
On Friday, thousands of party supporters paraded in Kingstown, dancing to amplified music in celebration of the party’s victory after the prime minister designate arrived in the city from Bequia, where he lives and spent Thursday night.
Friday was later sworn in at Government House in Montrose, on the outskirts of the city.

Poor taste Kenton X Chance, Do you think that most of you readers want to see the gruesome picture of someone killed in a accident?. This is tasteless and know that the public abhors such a desecration of the site of death where a reasonable expectation of privacy is expected at a place of death by their love ones.
In addition, I witness news did not have the decency to warn the public that viewers may find the picture of a dead NDP supporter distasteful and gives a reasonable viewer the choice to opt out of viewing the image or not, again poor journalism.

I think the police should take close look at the car to see if it was tampered with. I remember someone loosen the bolts on my car tires some year ago.
