Five people on gun and ammunition charges are due back in court on Monday after one of them pleaded guilty to the charges and the others pleaded not guilty.

Tevin Snagg pleaded guilty at the Serious Offences Court in Kingstown on Wednesday — Old Year’s Day — to a charge that on Dec. 30, 2025, at Canouan, he had in his possession one round of .22 ammunition, and one .22 revolver without a license to keep same under the Firearms Act.

The other accused, Michael Simmons, Ashura Davis, Shantel Sharpe, and Javon Barnwell pleaded not guilty to the same charges.

The prosecutor, Sergeant of Police Shamrack Pierre, informed the court that he was keeping the charges against the other accused, at least until Monday, so as to discuss the case with the Director of Public Prosecution.

He did not object to bail for the four accused who pleaded not guilty but asked that Snagg be remanded in custody until Monday for the hearing of the facts and sentencing.

“By then, we will be in a better position to indicate how to proceed,” Pierre told the court.

Grant Connell, who represented the five accused, said he had no objection to the prosecutor’s submission.

Chief magistrate Colin John remanded Snagg in custody until Monday and granted each of the other accused EC$10,000 with one surety.

The addresses of the five accused were listed in the charge as Canouan and Barrouallie.
