The Embassy of Japan has announced that applications are now open for the Japanese Government-funded 2027 Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) Scholarship Program.
This programme provides outstanding students from overseas with opportunities to pursue higher education in Japan, while promoting international exchange and fostering global talent.
The embassy is accepting applications from individuals from seeking to pursue a master’s degree or higher.
Successful applicants will receive coverage of entrance examination fees, admission fees and tuition fees, a monthly stipend, and a round-trip return between Japan and their home country.
The application deadline is June 1, 2026, and the embassy said there will be no extensions of this deadline.
“Interested applicants are encouraged to visit the Embassy of Japan’s website or scan the QR code on the attached flyer for the full eligibility requirements and application procedures,” the release said.

Fantastic! I asked about a boat engine repair person I met some years ago and was told he went to Japan to learn and obtain the skills he demonstrated. I hope the NDP will take advantage of this opportunity to send several GEN-Z to learn the skill needed in the island.
