The Caribbean Digital Transformation Project (CARDTP) hosted a Moodle Platform Training Workshop from July 28–30 in Kingstown, aimed at strengthening the capacity of government stakeholders to utilise digital learning tools for training delivery, knowledge sharing and professional development.
The workshop was facilitated by Silkie Prescott-Mc Kree, with support from Ashena Bowman, and provided participants with practical guidance on using and administering the Moodle learning management platform.
The three-day workshop forms part of CARDTP’s continued efforts to support digital transformation across the public service by introducing solutions that improve accessibility, efficiency and collaboration in learning and development.
Moodle, an open-source learning management platform, provides an interactive digital environment where users can access training materials, participate in online courses, complete assessments and engage with learning resources.
The platform is expected to support the government’s efforts to expand digital training opportunities and enhance the delivery of capacity-building initiatives.
During the workshop, participants received practical training on the key features and functions of the Moodle platform, including course creation and management, uploading educational content, user administration, assessment tools and approaches for improving learner engagement.
The sessions provided participants with hands-on experience to support the effective administration and future use of the platform.
Representatives from partner government agencies participated in the training, gaining the knowledge and skills required to contribute to the development, management and delivery of digital learning content.
The workshop also encouraged collaboration among stakeholders and reinforced the importance of building internal capacity to sustain digital solutions beyond project implementation.
The Moodle Platform Training Workshop represents another milestone in CARDTP’s commitment to strengthening institutional readiness and supporting the Government of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines in its digital transformation journey, a press release said.
Through investments in digital tools, infrastructure and human capacity, CARDTP continues to support the development of a more efficient, connected and digitally enabled public sector.
The Caribbean Digital Transformation Project is funded by the World Bank and implemented by the Government of St. Vincent and the Grenadines through the Project Implementation Unit within the Ministry of Finance.
The project supports initiatives focused on digital public services, improved government operations, cybersecurity, digital skills development and enhanced access to technology-enabled solutions for citizens and businesses.
