Rain affected play on Sunday as the Third Annual Dovers Electrical Services East Kingstown Sports Association Softball Cricket Competition continued at the Grammar School Playing Field in Kingstown.
In the only match on Saturday, Attackers 2 had a comfortable 53-run win over C.K. Greaves Stars. Batting first, Attackers 2 reached 148 for 7 off their 20 overs.
Marlon Cambridge and Jevorn Seales were the main run getters.
Cornelius Trimmingham took 3 for 16 and Carlyle Solomon, 2 for 37, bowling for C.K. Greaves Stars.
In reply, C.K. Greaves Stars reached 95 for 5 off 20 overs.
Clifford Williams made 27. Raffie Williams took 2 for, 17 bowling for Attackers 2.
In the only match completed on Sunday, Attackers 2 was again in winners’ row. This time, they had an upset win over General Hardware Richmond Hill United, beating them by 37 runs.
Batting first, Attackers 2 were dismissed for 92 off 19.4 overs.
Doran Dallaway top scored with 26. Zenroy Lee grabbed 3 wickets for 10 runs; Shavis Trimmingham took 3 for 14, bowling for General Hardware Richmond Hill United.
In reply, General Hardware Richmond Hill United were dismissed for 58 off 18 overs.
Doran Dallaway, putting in an all-round performance, took 4 for 19.
He was supported by Kirby Simmons — 2 for 9, and Raffie Williams — 2 for 10.
The Combine Forces and Rivals match, also on Sunday, was abandoned because of rain.
Combine Forces reached 118 all out off 18.5 overs. Cassius Welcome made 26. Nicholas Clarke took 2 wickets for 1 run; Elton Campbell, 2 for 19.
Rivals were unable to reply due to rain.
The match between Dr. Thomas Injectors and Dower Electrical Services was also abandoned because of rain.
Fixtures for coming weekend:
On Saturday, from 12:30 p.m., Attackers 2 and Bank of SVG All Stars will meet, and then from 3:30 p.m., Combine Forces and Attackers 1 will square off.
On Sunday, from 12:30 p.m., Nice Radio Clinchers and General Hardware Richmond Hill United will do battle. Then, in the featured game, from 3 p.m., Dovers Electrical Services and Customs will compete.
All Matches are being played at the Grammar School Playing Field.
