Organisers of “80’s GLAM & GLITZ” this weekend are promising the finest in local entertainment.

The show, which celebrates the finest 80’s pop music, will be staged at the Aquatic Club. Patrons will be treated to vocal prowesses of Pennola Ross, Addison Stoddard, Marvo O’Brien, Kamara Foster, and Bomani Charles, a release said.

In solo, duet, and group renditions, these five of St. Vincent’s top singers will transport patrons to the 80’s with songs that have touched all lives during that decade and that continue to inspire generations.

The singers will be supported by a cadre of solid local musicians: Joel Jack on bass, Georgie Veira on guitar, Denny Robinson, Darron Andrews, and Sean Sutherland on keyboards, Jason Phillips on drums, and Rodney Small on percussion and pan.

Background vocals will be provided by the Gould family: Ateisha, Aubrey, and Brian.

Organisers say tat while the event comes on the heels of Carnival, it is not just another cool down event.

“Set up as a concert and not a purely DJ’ed function, this event is expected to not only showcase top musical talent here in St. Vincent, but also deeply uplift. The variety of 80’s hits that will be performed cover a variety of life experiences, including but not limited to all the seasons of loving relationships, that we all have experienced,” a release said.

There will be two different sets of music each night.

“So for those who want to come out to both, it will not be just a repeat,” Sean Sutherland, one of the event’s masterminds said.

“There is so much great music in the 80’s that you can’t go wrong with either night. If you are in doubt, simply attend both evenings,” he said.
