A resident of Redemption Sharpes died Monday afternoon after being chopped in the chest.
Reports say Keland Gabriel, 24, received the fatal wound as a quarrel over a cigarette escalated.
The chop was reportedly inflicted by another resident of the community, who is said to be assisting police with investigations.
Gabriel’s death brings to 15 the number of homicides this year.
It came one day after a man, Rodney Grant, was found dead Sunday night, shortly after a robbery of the Russell’s Cineplex.
Grant had a bullet wound to his face and five men have been charged with causing his death.
