The Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) Export Development Unit (EDU) will be hosting a two-day workshop on Business Management for the Creative Industries Sector of the Economic Union in St. Vincent and the Grenadines on Friday and Saturday. The workshop is planned for Grenadines House, Kingstown from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday.
This workshop is part of efforts by the EDU to deliver customized intervention for to enhance management skills and overall business capacity required to drive the competitiveness of enterprises in the Creative Industries Sector in the OECS. The Creative Industries program of the Unit covers entrepreneurial and business activities related to audio-visual arts (film and music), handicraft and fashion.
The two-day workshop is entitled “Development of Human Capacity in the OECS Cultural Industries: Entrepreneurship, Strategic Development and Management (ESDM) and will provide training for the arts and culture to promote effective planning and management of projects and activities being considered by cultural enterprises.
The workshop will be facilitated by Dr. Jo-anne Tull of the University of the West Indies, a lecturer and researcher in the creative industries sector.
Encouraged to attend are leaders/managers, owners and self-employed persons in firms and enterprises working in the creative industries. Other individuals/artists who serve as sole proprietorships and others with goals of managing or owning their own businesses or firms can also benefit from this training.
The next in this series of workshops across the OECS will be held in Dominica at the Fort Young Hotel in Roseau from Nov. 15 to 16.
