Two Vincentian coaches recently received successful results, following the completion of a WICB/UTech Tutor’s Training in October 2013, in Jamaica.

Current Windward Islands senior team coach, Ian Allen, and Territorial Development (TDO) Officer of cricket, Irvin Warrican, both represented St. Vincent and the Grenadines with remarkable performances.

Of the entire coaching panel who participated, TDO Warrican’s 88 per cent was the top grade gained on the overall programme, which included areas such as lesson planning, micro teaching, theory, and practical.

Both men have since resumed their respective duties of coaching, where they apply the advanced knowledge and skills gained from the recent training.

TDO Warrican continues to lead the development of our local cricketers, while Allen is head coach of the Windward Islands senior team, to participate in the Regional First Class tournament.

Ian Allen is a former West Indies, Windward Islands and St. Vincent and the Grenadines fast bowler, while Irvin Warrican has represented St. Vincent and the Grenadines and Windward Islands as a bowling off-spinner all-rounder.

Warrican has coached and Managed Windward Islands youth teams in recent years.
