General Hardware Richmond Hill United registered a decisive 141-run win over newcomer, Combine Rangers as the fourth annual Dovers Electrical Services East Kingstown Sports Association Softball cricket competition got underway at the Grammar School Playing Field on Saturday.

Batting first, General Hardware Richmond Hill United reached 209 for 4 off their allotment of 20 overs.

Lawrence Shoy slammed 53.

He was supported by Isaacs Trimmingham’s 39, Depter Culzac’s 30 and Zenroy Lee’s 27.

Steve Edwards took 3 for 33, bowling for Combine Rangers.

In reply, Combine Rangers were dismissed for 68 off 16 overs. Colin Lee took 3 for 16, bowling for General Hardware Richmond Hill United.

In one of two matches played on Sunday, Valley Boyz got an easy win over Combine Forces winning by default after the other team did not show up for their scheduled game.

In the other match on Sunday, Buccament Bay got the better of Spartans United by 5 wickets, with two balls remaining.

Batting first, Spartans United reached 123 for 7 of their 20 overs.

Jevorn Seales slammed 26 and Raffie Williams made 21 not out.

Bowling for Buccament Bay, Renrick Quashie bagged 3 for 31 and Lorenzo Degrads 2 for 10.

In reply, Buccament Bay reached 125 for 5 off 19.4 overs. Ricardo Hendrickson slammed 52, while Lorenzo Degrads made 25.
