Teams continue to fight for position as action in the Fourth Annual Dovers Electrical Services, East Kingstown Sports Association Softball Cricket Competition continued on the weekend at Grammar School Playing Field.
In the first game on Saturday, Attackers 1 had a 7-wicket win over Combine Forces. Combine Forces were restricted to 49 all out, off 9.1 overs.
The duo of Travis Cumberbatch, 2 for 12, and Vernardo Primus, 2 for 20, were the most successful bowlers for Attackers 1. In reply, Attackers 1 raced to 54 for 3 off 6.3 overs. Captain Roderick John was unbeaten on 25. Travis Cumberbatch took 2 for 19, bowling for Combine Forces.
In the other match on Saturday, Combine Rangers also had a 7-wickets win over Customs. Customs, batting first, were dismissed 45 off 16.2 overs. Nimroy Laborde took 3 for 8 and Julyeo Woodley, 2 for 6. In reply, Combine Rangers reached 46 for 3 off 7.4 overs. Julyeo Woodley made 16. Kevron Barbour took 2 for 15, bowling for Customs.
In one of two matches played on Sunday, Buccament Bay got the better of Combine Rangers by 31 runs. Batting first, Buccament Bay reached 123 for 7 off 20 overs. Lerenzo Degrads made 23. Nimroy Laborde took 2 for 9 and Jamal Jackson 2 for 11, bowling for Combine Rangers. In reply, Combine Rangers were dismissed for 92 off 15.4 overs. Bernard Bushay made 29. Reynold Quashie bagged 4 for 12 and Kenroy Slater 4 for 17.
In the other match on Sunday, Attackers 1 and Dr. Thomas Injectors played to an exciting tie. Batting first, Dr. Thomas Injectors were dismissed for 83 off 17.1 overs. Ronick Daniel made 20. Vernardo Primus, 3 for 7, Cornelius Edwards, 3 for 15, and Kentish Phillips, 2 for 35, were the most successful bowlers for Attackers 1. In reply, Attackers 1 were restricted to 83 for 7 off 20 overs. Kentish Phillips made 28. Damion Allen took 3 wickets for 9 runs; he was supported by Len Grant, 2 for 3, and Ron Adams, 2 for 9.
Zenroy Lee of General Hardware Richmond Hill United had the most runs — 95, while Jevorn Williams of C.K. Greaves Stars and Elroy Cumberbatch of General Hardware Richmond Hill United were the leading wickets-takers, with 15 wickets each.
